CIDESCO
The creation of the COMITE INTERNATIONAL D’ESTHETIQUE ET DE COSMETOLOGIE, better known as CIDESCO, was the idea of two individuals, Mr. Dumont of Brussels, Belgium and Mr. Poirsons of Paris, France.
CIDESCO was created to work towards standardizations for aestheticians in the European countries whom wanted to practice "Beauty Therapy". The official birth date of CIDESCO was December 1946 in Brussels, Belgium with the official headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland. It took the next few years to create and conceive the CIDESCO standards for aestheticians with conjoined efforts of various cosmetologists.
CIDESCO guidelines have been utilized as a standard for training in Europe since 1946. In the European countries there is a a lcines required therefore having a CIDESCO Diplome showed employers that there were standards across the board. These same standards have been introduced in the United States through the cooperative efforts of Ron Renee, Aestheticians International Association ( AIA ) and cooperative efforts of Kathy Driscoe.
Kathy Driscoe is a cosmetologist instructor that pursued her dreams of opening a first CIDESCO approved program for the United States.
Students who pass the CIDESCO exam are eligible to work worldwide. They will enter the Aesthetics industry with knowledge that is far more extensive than someone trained as a cosmetologist license. A CIDESCO trained aesthetician can provide full body care. They will have obtained a broad knowledge of information that general cosmetology schools do not teach in their programs fora general cosmetologist license.
A CIDESCO Diplomate status is a certification reflective of Beauty Therapy. Physicians, nurses and aestheticians working on the level of medical aesthetics can benefit from the basic principles of skin care that offered within this course. A aesthetician with a Cidesco Diplomate Certification does benefit the the physicians Medical Aesthetics practice.
Aestheticians International Association
Ron Renee is most responsible for bringing the attention of the aesthetician to the general mainstream of skin care providers in the United States. His efforts helped build the Aesthetics Profession as it stands today. He envisioned the ideas for american aestheticians, cosmetologists and varied medical groups working together through his development of Aestheticians International Association. Aestheticians seeking more education certification should look to joining the Aestheticians International Association. (AIA).
Ron Renee created a platform where diversified skin care expertise could facilitate a new league of Licensed Skin Care Professionals . The past cosmetologists and aesthetician schools spawned new vitality into educational requirements which led to greater job opportunity.
Ron understood the aestheticians struggle for identity, seperate licensing , broader education, job opportunity, as well as the desire for professional and educational growth . He gave the aesthetician a platform to voice ideas, present diversifeid educational expereinces therefore help younger aestheticians to dream bigger. It was through Ron Renees Visionary Role that Aestheticians began to gain respect for being a licensed skin care specialist and not a " cosmetologist operator".
He understood that Medical Aesthetics would become a super power that could supercede a general aestheticians background. He would encourage the Development of Medical Aesthetics through attending the first teaching program in Temple, Texas at Scott and White Hospital, Division of Plastic Surgery. He was presented with a Visionary Award which never was provided to any other individual in the United States. This was history.
Every nurse or physican seeking an introduction to Aesthetics Knowledge to join Aestheticians International Association.
Aestheticians International Association is still a great organization for nurses, aestheticians, physicians and cosmetologists to gain broad information as it relates to the industry issues including business perspectives.
